Caring for Your Largest Organ: Advice from a Skin Care Manufacturer

While you have different skin and skin needs depending on its function and where it’s located on your body, the skin on your face is especially fragile. After all, your thinnest skin is found on your eyelids at only 0.05mm thick. Since your face is always exposed to the elements and is the first thing other people notice about you, it’s important to care for this fragile skin properly.

 

Because there are so many private label skin care products available, it can be overwhelming to find a proper routine with specific products that are just right for your skin type. That’s why we, a private skin care manufacturer and private label cosmetics manufacturer, have used our expertise to give you some easy-to-follow advice that will protect your skin and make it look and feel great.

 

Follow a Routine for Your Specific Skin Type

 

There are 5 basic types of skin, each requiring different treatment in order to stay looking its best.

 

1. Normal skin, characterized by:

  • Few or no imperfections
  • No severe sensitivity
  • Barely visible pores
  • A bright complexion

A skin routine for normal skin should include cleaning it with a mild cleanser that won’t disrupt your skin’s perfect balance, moisturizing it with a light/medium lotion, exfoliating it twice a week (with an AHA, BHA, or retinol) for a glowing complexion, and applying sunscreen.

 

2. Dry skin, characterized by:

  • Almost invisible pores
  • A dull, flaky complexion
  • Red patches
  • Low skin elasticity
  • More visible lines

Dry skin requires a skin care routine that uses a cleansing oil that doesn’t strip moisture, a hydrated serum to boost dryness with water, a protective moisturizer such as shea butter, and a luxurious sunscreen.

 

3. Oily skin, characterized by:

  • Enlarged pores
  • A shiny, thick complexion
  • Pimples, blackheads, blemishes

A skin care routine for oily skin should include cleansing it with a gentle and soap-free product, exfoliating it to help dissolve pore-clogging sebum, moisturizing it with a lightweight cream or gel, and finishing it off with sunscreen that has oil-absorbing ingredients.

 

4. Combination skin, characterized by:

  • Normal in some areas, oily in others (usually the nose, forehead, and chin)
  • Larger-than-normal pores
  • Blackheads
  • Shiny skin

For combination skin, your skin care routine should include using a balanced formula cleanser, a hydrating serum all over, a mattifier for your oily T-zone, a lightweight liquid moisturizer, and an oil-free sunscreen.

 

5. Sensitive skin, characterized by:

  • Redness
  • Itching
  • Burning
  • Dryness

A sensitive skin care routine should include washing the face with a gentle cleanser and gently patting it dry, skipping exfoliation (it may irritate), moisturizing, and applying sunscreen. None of the products should contain alcohol, soap, acid, or fragrance. The products should contain ingredients like aloe, chamomile, green tea, and oats.

 

Things to Incorporate (and Avoid) No Matter Your Skin Type

 

No matter which type of skin you have, you should always try to incorporate proper products formulated by a cosmetic manufacturer or skin care manufacturer to meet your specific needs.

 

In addition to the skin care routines listed above, feel free to occasionally add a mask, peel, or supplement to your routine if your skin needs a boost. Be sure you stay hydrated by drinking ½ oz. to 1 oz. of water for each pound you weigh. Above all, stay away from smoking and the sun’s UVA and UVB rays.
